Applied Behavior Analysis Support Specialist

As an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) support specialist, your role is vital in providing education and support to parents of children diagnosed with autism. Your primary focus is to help parents understand and implement ABA strategies and techniques to promote their child's development and overall well-being.

As an ABA support specialist with GAI, you will work directly with parents, providing them with guidance, training, and resources to help them understand and implement ABA principles and techniques at home. Your responsibilities may include conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, teaching parents how to use reinforcement strategies, and addressing challenging behaviors.

Working as a parent educator in this role, you will support educational programs for parents, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to support their child's progress. Parents will learn about the core principles of ABA, behavior management techniques, data collection, and how to communicate effectively and create supportive environments.

As you gain experience and expertise in the field of ABA, you may have the opportunity to work as a program coordinator or consultant. In this role, you will oversee ABA programs for families, coordinate services, provide ongoing support and training to parents and staff, and ensure the program's effectiveness and quality. You may also collaborate with schools, other professionals, and community organizations to advocate for children with autism and promote inclusive practices.

As an ABA support specialist working with parents of children diagnosed with autism, and as the field of ABA continues to grow, there is a high demand for professionals who can provide effective education and support to families. By helping parents navigate the challenges of raising a child with autism, you contribute to improving the lives of both the child and their family.
